We're planning a 2-week road trip in Washington and BC. I was all set to pre-book a rental car through a broker and then noticed the small print, that taking the rental car onto a car ferry (e.g. over to Vancouver Island) requires special permission. I just phoned to check what this involves and was told that they will not cover any liability for loss/damage while the vehicle is on the ferry. I'm now not sure what to do, as some island hopping was one of the main attractions of the trip. Does anyone have experience of particular rental mercedes benz cruise control repairs 380sl companies that don't have this restriction, or is it just a common mercedes benz cruise control repairs 380sl issue?
perhaps they are taking about the small car commuter ferries to some of the smaller islands, like barges. BC Ferries is a large vessel and a great deal of the cars on the ferry this time of year are rental cars. BC Ferries will have thier own insurance as well. Is it perhaps better to book directly with the company that the broker would choose? Or at least check with the company directly. I have never heard of that and we have rented cars and taken them on the ferry before. We usually book through Budget Rent a car.
Agree with live42day. If all of us with rental cars stayed off the ferries, they would probably be half empty... Do check with the rental company about any restrictions with crossing over from U.S. into Canada, though. Some companies have begun to restrict that.
We're out in BC every year visiting family and I've never heard anything mercedes benz cruise control repairs 380sl about a restriction on ferries. The last time, however, mercedes benz cruise control repairs 380sl we were told that our free daily mileage was restricted to Canada. If we took the car into the US, we were restricted to 200 km (if I remember correctly).
Susan: from the AutoEurope UK website: "...Cars are not permitted to be taken on ferries or to island locations without prior authorization from Auto Europe...". Defies logic, but it's their rule and the reason I won't be spending my money with them.
Another question, if I may. We've been looking at the BC Ferries website and saw the 7-day SailPass, together with an interesting circular route starting/ending in Vancouver and taking in the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and 1 or 2 Southern Gulf Islands. It's $239 for the two of us including mercedes benz cruise control repairs 380sl the car. Any opinions on this?
Hi, Gordon. We did the CirclePac pass a couple of months ago on that same route, and enjoyed it very much. If you compare the individual sailings for the car plus passengers, it was a good deal. You might want to compare mercedes benz cruise control repairs 380sl the two.
