There were more than 4,100 people on board the Crown Princess and some of them exhibited signs of the virus a few days into the voyage that began from Los Angeles. The 28 day cruise traveled to Hawaii and Tahiti. The ill passengers and crew members were treated on the ship.
This outbreak is the second in this year on this ship, which is part of the Princess Cruises fleet. During a trip in April, more than 100 people aboard this ship fell sick due to Norovirus.teh ship is now scheduled to undergo a deep cleansing before it leaves for its next voyage, according to Susan Lomax, spokesperson for Carnival Corp, owner of the cruise line. However, passengers credited the captain and crew members of the ship for staying calm and managing the situation well.
The ship, currently docked at San Pedro, will cruise to the Mexican Riviera on Sunday night. A CDC spokesman said that people set to board the ship for the next cruise will be informed about the virus outbreak and there will be a CDC official on board to inspect the ship before one day bahamas cruise its departure.
There have been reports of norovirus one day bahamas cruise outbreaks by as many as a dozen cruise liners sailing from US ports this year. Norovirus one day bahamas cruise is a common cause of gastrointestinal disease and causes symptoms like vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. It generally occurs when many people share a confined area and there is a lack of hygiene when food is prepared and served. Though the outbreak in usually mild, it is an unpleasant experience.
