Carnival you should be ashamed at this deceit. Magens Bay NEVER turns anyone away. To passengers: from Havensight a cab ride costs $8 per person each way or $16 roundtrip, it s $4 per person to enter Magens and once there you can stay ALL DAY. Let me ask you this, have you ever heard of a place closing for fear of too much business coming their way?
We confirmed this nonsense with the blue-towel Glory cruisers next to us. One couple mirage hotel and casino las vegas actually fell for this scam and the other couple took a taxi. You can imagine mirage hotel and casino las vegas how ripped off the couple that paid $70 for a taxi ride felt. There is always mirage hotel and casino las vegas biz trying to milk money from pessengers or patrons. They are crooks in my opinion. I met a friend s mother today off one of the ships that piece of bullshit is still going around selling tours w/Magen stop over for two hours for 79 bucks and she overheard people saying mirage hotel and casino las vegas since they didn t buy ahead of time they wouldn t be able to go the beach she enlightened them..its called get a TAXI
Pam C: Get used to it!! The cruise ships are notorious for that. They only recommend stores that give kick backs as well. The taxis must be making money on it, why would they complain when they are gauranteed passengers. It s been going on forever I don t think it will change any time soon. We used to tell the folks that took our daysail trip to Buck See More Island about where to shop and where to avoid. Problem is, the herds on the ships believe what they are told, because they trust the cruise ships. A lot of them come from the midwest and this is the first time they have been away from home. (For some it is the first time they have SEEN the ocean!)
I would advise all cruiser to research the ports of call beforehand so they know all the options available to them. My husband and I are frequent cruisers, yet rarely use their tours because of the prices.
