Had a similar problem when I was expecting a parcel delivered by TNT. Apparently their system cheap travel destinations insisted our Vrysoulles post code was in Northern Cyprus and the parcel ended up in the North and had to go back to the UK and come over again.

I had a similar problem about where I lived; I was sent a long letter giving me the history of Cyprus, by the manager dealing with the case. He said he had 'formatted' my address on his computer, and arrived at the conclusion thatI lived in the occupied north! I suggested that he 're-format' my address, and look at a map of the area.

Exactly Just had a look at my utiliity bills and they all end with the Paralimini and post code. They are not taking the chance of them going to the North. Wish they had put it on the electric bill A serious question now,why do we have a separate Mayor for Famagusta ?

You will note a significant detail on our Resident�s Certificates.......It is a Blue EU flag symbol with a circle of Stars on it, I do believe the State of Turkey and its occupied areas are not yet members.
This would be regarded in some countries as a very great insult. It would be a good idea to send a copy of your reply to HMRC to the High Commission in Nicosia with a covering letter asking them to do their job and ensure the British Government and its agencies had a proper detailed map of the Republic. No wonder the dispute with Turkey rumbles on if the British Government does not know where the border lies.
