After decades of putting up with overpriced hotel rooms and bad road-trip food, we've decided to get a small travel trailer like a Scamp or Casita, 13'-16'. Any ideas of the best places to look besides Craigslist?
Also, those things have a cult-like following, so there are probably user groups holiday inn express san diego for them. And I know at least one of the manufacturers occasionally sells used units they take in trade. Beware they hold their value very well - like I said, they have cult-like following.
My main objection to them, besides the cost, is that they really need to make them just a tiny bit taller. It's non-trivial for them to make design changes due to the contruction, but people have grown (sadly, in various dimensions) since they were designed years ago.
I had a Casita 17 for about 3 years. It was a nice little trailer which I hauled to Alaska with a 1.8 L GMC Jimmy. I used this little trailer well. It was compact and functional. I would check RV sites and Casita has an owner web site which I think you can find via the CASITA website.
