We already have several war memorials in Lincoln, I do not believe the location of the site is suitable for a hospice or a family area. A doctors surgery would only need a ground floor location and could be added to the proposed buildng if the developers would accept it.

Other resources the city needs other than yet more student accommodation, yes the students need somewhere to stay, but so do all the residents of Lincoln who are struggling to find somewhere to live but can t find somewhere due to an almost impossible housing scheme and impossible critea to meet, maybe build the housing but offer a percentage of it to the council or a youth housing scheme?
Fiona Taplin It s well known that a large portion of the rent market is occupied by student lettings. More purpose built student accommodation means less houses are occupied by student lettings - leaving more houses available for normal rent. It s a win-win situation however you look at it.

It does beg the question: what s happened to all the office jobs in Lincoln? Witham House, Thorngate House, Danesgate House all now converted to student accommodation or luxury apartments - where have all the white collar jobs gone?
More purpose built student accommodation would be good if that helped release the West End from the grip of the private developers. The area has been dramatically changed over recent years. Gone from a family rich locale to student enclave. My mother, for one, has lived there for 65 years and is feeling squeezed out and isolated. The area has such a large amount of multiple occupancy houses that are becoming extremely scruffy and the once beautiful victorian facades are suffering. Landlords need to be made to take more responsibility for their tenants behaviour too. Have to say to be clear, I think the Uni has helped vacation rentals san diego improve the city as a whole and benefitted businesses throughout.
