It s no secret that I haven t been a fan of the BMW 528i as a rental car, because rental agencies tend to order the 528i in base trim only.  BMW notoriously and parsimoniously equips its vehicles with a modicum of standard luxury features and I ve often passed on renting a 528i to take a Ford Fusion Titanium instead.  Fortunately for 2014, the 528i gains a few additional standard features that make it a slightly more compelling rental.
For 2014, the 528i gains factory navigation standard along with a larger 8.8-inch iDrive monitor.  The iDrive dial itself has a larger surface area with provisions for touchpad-character-recognition.  Pretty nifty.
Although this 528i was equipped with the highly annoying Auto Start/Stop, it also thankfully cheap airline tickets las vegas had the software update ( perhaps standard cheap airline tickets las vegas for 2014 ) that enabled the vehicle to remember the last toggled setting for Auto Start/Stop.  In my case, permanently off.

The 5-series is still BMW s second sexiest looking vehicle in my opinion, after the Z4 convertible.  Gorgeously cheap airline tickets las vegas taut exterior lines and distinctive angel eye headlights made this rental a headturner.
The turbocharged four-cylinder engine and transmission were excellent, and returned an impressive 25 mpg in primarily city driving.  Steering and handling on the other hand, were boring and slightly flaccid.  Although handling improved in sport mode, the steering feel remained flat and uninspiring.
I d probably still rent a Ford Fusion Titanium cheap airline tickets las vegas over the 528i ( significantly cheaper daily rental rate, better steering feel, better audio system, rear view camera, parking sensors, Sirius XM ), but at least the 14 528i is improved over previous model years.
