My husband, Bryan, and I spent this past Fourth of July weekend in Las Vegas and despite the extreme heat, we had a fabulous time. Before leaving I did lots of research on ways to save during our stay since we were on a tight budget. Let's face it, if you're not careful Vegas can break the bank really quick.
-Consider staying midweek. Hotel prices are usually cheaper during the week (with the exception of some holidays). Another plus to staying midweek - less crowds. Ok this one we clearly didn't listen to but it was a timing issue with this trip.
-Use the $20 trick at your hotel to possibly get a "free" (minus the $20) room upgrade. Basically you sandwich a $20 in between your credit card and ID (with the twenty clearly showing) and hand it to the clerk at check-in. You then ask if there are any free room upgrades available. -Mr. Lucky's famous 7-7-7 deal (located at The Hard Rock Hotel inside the Casino - open 24/7). This is NOT on the menu so you'll have to ask for it.
