Even more of a rip off than before, premium used to include premium spirits too, we thought it was a bit overpriced then, this is the end of AI for us, actually we weren too impressed with our RCI cruise this year so I think we ll give them a miss from now on!
Wow , every package is a loser for the customer. Most are water based drink that cost a few pennies to seventy five cents for beers. Ships buy their alcohol in the cheapest ports, and transfer it between ships. My last cruise the bar tender showed me the price list (their costs) 24 packs beer were most $14.37, some as low as $9.00 , wine was $4 a bottle cruise vancouver hawaii to $11 a bottle, very few were over $20. Markup was 700% 2000%
the single drink price is ok at bar prices back home, yes that is true, however the cruise line charges the package for everyday of the cruise. Thus say the $40 a day package you have to drink 8 beers EVERY day to break even. may as well be half drunk the entire cruise cruise vancouver hawaii at that rate for most people. A better idea would be drink cards, you pick how many you want on the card and they more you buy the cheaper per drink it gets. 10 beer card say $50, 20 beer $90 30 beer $120 , etc. that way you can space it out and the cruise line gets good profits as well.
