I went to a variety of auto rental company's sites to check policies for US Residents on taking a rental car into Canada from the United States. See the bottom of this page for info for Non US Residents
Note : There are always the possibility of location exceptions to this policy. Make sure to check local policy when making sheffield hotels reservations. Note: Canadian residents Canadian Customs regulations will let you enter Canada with a U.S. rented car if the trip is for non-commercial purposes for a period of up to 30 days only. Customers with a Canadian driver’s license planning to cross the border into Canada should be provided with a vehicle with a Canadian license plate, if one is available.
