Welcome to Year 2015! Sunshine Bike Tours was really excited to kick off the New Year having a great tour with a very nice and fun family one day cruises to the bahamas from Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois! They were here for the New Year s holiday and it was their first time visiting Marco Island.
We saw lots of wildlife including a school one day cruises to the bahamas of very playful dolphin who were jumping and coming all the way out of the water just like Flipper, so that was really fun and cool! I tried to capture it on video, but the sun was shining so brightly right into my eyes that I was unable to see what I was filming. Maybe someone else on tour was able to film it and will share their video with us!
Something else that was interesting about this tour was that one of the tour guests grew up right down the street from a professional road racing cyclist who just recently retired from the tour and is now a commentator for the Tour de France. His name is Christian Vande Velde and he hails from my home state of Illinois! I really enjoyed his commentating this year at the Tour de France and thought he did an outstanding job! It was cool to hear the stories about him when he was growing up and how his family literally had like 100 s bikes in their garage. Ha, no mistake he was going to ride a bike, and well, and love it!
We ended the tour on the beach to enjoy a tranquil sunset and followed it up with kicking back at the beachside grill which overlooked the Gulf of Mexico for some drinks and appetizers and sharing stories. What a fabulous end to a great day and Sunshine Bike Tours first tour of 2015! Many thanks, Rob, Jen, Julie, Jack, Dave, and Mariann!
