Of course the office was already closed for the night and did not open again until AFTER our flight the next day. Kids under the age of 4 don't technically have to buy a ticket on Renfe trains. They aren't guaranteed a seat, but if you're not just on a local commuter short distance train, there are almost always plenty of empty seats. Kids between the ages of 4-13 get a 40% discount.
Different bus companies have different rules about at what age kids have to pay.
