The exchange rate for these transactions is generally terrible, so this isn t a good option for transferring large balances between programs. However, it s a great way to liquidate orphan balances from programs that no longer have any value to you or are about to expire.

I was presented with two such offers (AA and Southwest), and both were 40-50% more expensive for the electricity. The points are probably only worth it if they re free, but the increase in the electricity bill for me would have FAR outweighed the earned miles.
For Dining rewards, there is also Mogl. Many places give A LOT of cash back (10% is not uncommon). It s generally better to opt for cash back than the airline pts, though (you can get 30 VX Elevate pts or 40 Hawaiian Miles instead of each $1 cash back the $1 is worth more)
A warning to everyone DO NOT sign up for EnergyPlus, no matter what the miles offered. I did, and after the initial grace period, the venetian resort hotel casino their rates shot up to more than double my local utility! That is so true about the higher kilowatt pricing. In their annual disclosure form, it s disclosed that the actual sustainable electricity flowing into your home is no better than the big commercial utility.
I did the Energy Plus thing but I switched back to PECO at the end of the three months period .collected my points from AA but you must mark your calendar the venetian resort hotel casino and make your calls/emails in a timely manner to prevent Energy Plus from escalating

Since I am focused on getting AA miles at the moment (for a future Asia trip), I have 2 cards registered with the AA program, and have reached VIP status, so 5 miles per $ is pretty sweet. They apply the registered card to the last program you registered it with (if you try to register the same card with different programs). Always good to check once in a while to see what cards you have registered with which program.
