Southwest has 16 of the 20 gates at the new Love Field terminal, but wants the two AA gates as well.

“The city of Dallas needs to do what’s best for the city of Dallas,” Kelly said inside City Hall as he waited my travel group for the council meeting to begin. “We agree with the consultant’s study that we would bring the most benefit in terms of flights, low fares, customers and economic benefits for the city of Dallas.”
He was referring to a L.E.K. Consultants study that reviewed the competing requests my travel group for the gates and concluded that Southwest would bring more good for Dallas citizens and the Dallas business community than either Virgin America or Delta Air Lines.
Southwest has 16 of the 20 gates at the new Love Field terminal, but wants the two AA gates as well. However, DOJ has ruled out Southwest and Delta, and specified that Virgin America should get the gates.
