If you have a need for a wheelchair, scooter, etc while on a cruise, there are agencies that will deliver them to the cruise ship for you.  That way they will be waiting in the cabin when you arrive.   Just remember that although the cruise ship does have wheelchairs at their disposal, they are for emergency use only.  If you need one during boarding and getting off the ship, you can request one.   If you do that the wheelchair is typically not available until you enter the terminal and then only if there is one not in use.
It is also important to consider the width of the cabin door if you are not reserving a handicap accessible stateroom.   These items cannot be left out in the hall, and need to be able to be put in your cabin.  HA cabins have the needed wider door ways and space.
