I visited Toronto, hilton garden hotels London, and Ottawa. The whole trip was a fun adventure that was a blast to experience. In all, I traveled by plane, train, taxi, ferry, subway, bus, light rail, rental car, and did a lot of city touring on foot. My favorite cinematic experience on the trip was viewing an OMNIMAX dome movie at the Ontario Science Center .
The trip started hilton garden hotels with a Porter Airlines charter flight from Halifax to Toronto Island's Billy Bishop Airport. The Porter staff were great. On the first day of my trip I noticed the Space TV Channel was advertising their latest shows (Doctor Who, Defiance, Being Human, and Face Off on the buses and subways around Toronto.
The historic Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto has been converted to a fancy Loblaws store and is also used for the Ryerson athletics program. The Loblaws store features a dual escalator system with one escalator for humans and a 2nd escalator just for shopping carts.
I took a VIA rail train from Toronto to London, Ontario. I haven't been back to London in years but I noticed hilton garden hotels the city's tourism infrastructure was aimed mostly at car driving tourists hilton garden hotels and the rail and airport locations were lacking. There weren't any publicly accessible internet computers at either the London train station or the airport. Also, AVIS had closed hilton garden hotels their location at the VIA rail station. The nearest AVIS and Enterprise car rental locations closed at 2pm noon time on weekends which meant I had to phone an old friend to drive me 11 km across town to pickup a rental car at the airport.
hilton garden hotels London, Ontario has experienced a lot of growth over the last few years and has suffered from a vast area of urban sprawl with endless malls and housing developments. To my eye, it was sad to see the new housing developments lacked a cohesive design aesthetic and were in conflict with the style of the traditional yellow brick houses near the Thames river.
I don't travel often so the whole airplane travel thing seemed quite frenetic. The weirdest experience was seeing airport security personnel scan passengers with a Smith Ionscan 500DT scanner . It is nice to know such advanced technology exists but it is a shame there is a need for it in the first place.
