To: Annhig - Excellent idea regarding the detail road map. We too, are planning to drive to Granada

We are going to Malaga in May. Which car rental company should we use? Auto-Europe or Malaga Car or what else? Has anyone had bad experiences with Malaga Car? Do we need an International Car Driver tour master saddlebags Licence? Thanks to all for your suggestions.
Auto Europe is a broker offering discounts (Avis, tour master saddlebags EuropeCar, Hertz, Gold Card, etc). Malaga Car is a small rental company at the Malaga airport that rents cars by the week, with a pickup and drop off at the airport only.
Sorry, I should have been more clearer in my question. We have a Canadian DL. Since 20 years we have been renting cars from Auto-Europe because of their excellent Insurance Package. This time, we are wondering if there is something better and also a little cheaper. We need a car to travel to/from Malaga because any other form of transportation does not give you the freedom to do as you please. Insurance with no excess is the utmost important, since we had a bad incident 4 years ago, in France. The damage was over 10,000 euros and the Insurance covered everything. My husband is a little worried and I promissed him that I will ask the question thru this forum. Thanks.
If you rent through Malaga Car, and want to be completely covered, should anything happen, and you don't have any travel insurance, then you should purchase the super CDW, zero deductible. It will be offered to you when you pick up the car.
To: Annhig - Excellent tour master saddlebags idea regarding the detail road map. We too, are planning to drive to Granada and I have read about the parking situation over there. It looks that, South of Spain is more complicated than anywhere in France.
To: Robert2533 - Thanks regarding tour master saddlebags the IDL. My husband will get one in a few days. About the Insurance, I will find out the detail coverage from Auto-Europe and Malaga Car and we will make a decision. One never know what could happen at the next corner!
when driving to Granada, unless your are staying somewhere with a car park, you should head for the huge Alhambra car park. it's well signposted and the signs will take you round in a loop to the south of the city so that you avoid the centre. our hotel gave us a ticket to get a discount on parking there, which was nice.
