To celebrate car rental companies their annual Responsible Business car rental companies Month, the Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel Philadelphia spent two days volunteering at Gift of Life Family House. Over 25 employees participated car rental companies in special projects to brighten up the Family House ranging from cooking, cleaning and painting—no matter what the project was, the Radisson team always did it with a smile.
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group who owns the Radisson, had two initiatives this year – Responsible Business and Clean the World 2012 – we felt that the Gift of Life Family House was the perfect partner to not only assist with our initiatives, but to support a phenomenal cause and give back to our community. Words cannot describe the satisfaction our employees felt while working at the House. Their mission at the House mimics our mission at the hotel, giving people a 'home away from home' – they are the perfect partner! said Lisa Farina, Human Resources Director, who led the groups as they worked to brighten up the Family House.
The celebration started on September 25th when Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel Philadelphia's talented culinary staff served car rental companies a delicious home cooked meal to the Family House residents as part of the Home Cook Heroes program – a volunteer program which invites community members to prepare and serve home cooked meals in the Family House kitchen. Chef Catherine Chambers led the culinary team whose menu included orzo with rock shrimp and peas, mixed green salad, car rental companies grilled chicken breast with shaved fennel, artichokes and kalamata olives, vegetable lasagna, herb roasted red bliss potato, and peach crumble with an oatmeal streusel top.
The next day the hotel's housekeeping staff assisted the Family House with several projects, including painting, washing windows and deep-cleaning car rental companies the guest rooms and common areas. When asked if any of them were ever touched by transplant three members in the group shared how their family members either received or gave the gift of life.
