Virtually all teams have some form of ticket plan that gets you postseason options and/or opening da

Even though teams claim to be anti ticket brokering, many are in fact big fans of ticket brokers for they are often their #1 customer.  In fact all the leagues now give brokers (and customers) the tools to broker their own tickets online on their league wide ticketexchanges (NFL, MLB, NBA) or on StubHub (MLB).  It is a beautiful relationship that finally occurred when the leagues threw up their hands and said, If we can t beat em, then lets join em, and so this odd partnership has begun.  This partnership has been disguised as a way for the fans to sell their ticket top 10 usa travel destinations to games that they cannot attend, but in reality it is a way for the leagues and teams to profit from the resale of their tickets by brokers and fans.  Instead of standing on the sidelines, these leagues now receive upwards of 15% per transaction (ticketexchanges), and MLB receives upwards of 15% per every MLB transaction on StubHub, including sponsorship revenue.  If you have noticed there are StubHub top 10 usa travel destinations ads plastered all over the place at MLB ballparks and telecasts.  MLB has an exclusive deal with StubHub.
Of all the sports, no team has more tickets to sell than Major League Baseball, and virtually no team could sell out every game unless brokers were gobbling up tickets in mass.  Teams need brokers, for they know every ticket is going to sell out for that Saturday night game vs the Yankees, but they need help for that Wednesday afternoon game vs the Balitmore Orioles.  So how do they sell that game?  They hang a little carrot on a string to temp the brokers top 10 usa travel destinations and fans in the form of OPENING DAY and PLAYOFF TICKETS
Virtually all teams have some form of ticket plan that gets you postseason options and/or opening day.  These two items are guaranteed sell outs for virtually every team in the league.  Opening day prices will likely fetch 2x-10x face value depending on the team, but if you want this game you will have to buy 4-16 other games that are worth about as much as the paper they are printed on.  It s called bundling top 10 usa travel destinations and sports teams have perfected the art of bundling.  You want the big game?  Then here is garbage.  Enjoy!
If the Opening Day enticement is not enough, then we got something special for you: World Series top 10 usa travel destinations tickets.   When your team makes the the Big Series and you are sitting at home wondering how all they yahoos got their tickets.  Well this is how:  They either bought them off Stubhub from $400-$5,000 or they got them directly from the team.  How? By purchasing one of these cute little miniplans of 5-20 games depending on the team, and the better teams make you go all in and purchase Season Tickets if you want full playoff strips.
That is the big carrot that every ticket broker wants: World Series tickets.  The beautiful thing about baseball (and basketball and hockey) is that if you are a season ticket holder and your team makes the championship you get every game and it is one hot ticket!  In the NFL, if you are a season ticket holder and your team makes the Super Bowl.  You have about a .0001% chance of getting tickets, and 3-4 World Series tickets is about equivalent to 1 Super Bowl ticket.
So that is how does the team-broker relationship work?  Baseball teams sell these plans to fans and brokers.  The brokers hope to break even and make a little money by selling each game of the regular season, or at least trying to sell every game.  (Let me tell you, for it is tough to sell tickets for games in which the stadium is half full on a weeknight.)  The broker s big hope is that the team makes a deep playoff run and if that team makes the World Series .$$$$$$$$$$$$$
From the team s point of view they get to sell every game in the ticket top 10 usa travel destinations package, and each ticket sold for a game that does not sell out is a win in their eyes.  If a game sells out then so be it, for it is still a ticket sold.  If their team does not make a deep playoff top 10 usa travel destinations run, which is unlikely, then they just sold a bunch of garbage regular season tickets to brokers that they were not going to sell anyways. Under this scenario, the brokers did not get that big postseason reward in the form of profits from selling postseason tickets they bought at face value.  They basically were a partner with the team in selling regular season tickets top 10 usa travel destinations and different outlets other than the primary source. If the team does make a big postseason run, then the brokers get rewarded for buying large amounts of regular season tickets, by that $$$ made in the playoffs.  The teams were going to sell those tickets regardless because it is a hot ticket, so they do not lose either.  They just rewarded their #1 customer who is the broker that spent thousands of dollars hoping that the small chance of the team making the World Series would actually happen.
NBA and NHL is much the same except they have less games and much fewer tickets to sell, so they do not have large amount of garbage games that MLB has but they structure their mini-plans top 10 usa travel destinations similar by enticing fans to buy these plans by dangling postseason tickets in front them if they buy these mini plans or season tickets.  Another downer with the NBA is that their regular season opener is pretty top 10 usa travel destinations uneventful (NHL s is a little more popular than NBA) unlike MLB s opening day which is almost always a hot ticket.
The NFL may be the worst investment for ticket brokers for two reasons.  1) Two god awful preseason game in which a $75 ticket top 10 usa travel destinations will sell for $5, literally.  If you are lucky.  2) No Super Bowl tickets to season ticket top 10 usa travel destinations holders.
For these reasons, NFL owners generally would be fine if you purchased any available season tickets, for that means you just bought two garbage tickets for $75 each to two preseason games in which you could by on StubHub for $5 each.  Ever watch an NFL preseason game on TV? Probably not, but if you look in the stands you will see thousands of empty seats, and at least for good teams those seats were sold and the ticket holder just didnt want to show up because the product on the field is that bad!  They couldn t give them away!
Of course, their are some heads of the ticketing departments of teams that are very anti-broker.  These are usually the same guys that would have their recent college graduate, ticker account managers call brokers and beg them to buy season tickets for their crummy top 10 usa travel destinations teams, but once their team becomes a winner, then we immediately go from hero/#1 customer to scum of the earth.  In the case of the Cleveland Cavaliers in went full circle 1. Before Lebron heroes 2. During Lebron scum of the earth 3. After Lebron Heroes.  A Cavs ticket is a tough one to sell these days.
Some teams are very anti-ticket broker and would rather have empty seats then sell them to a ticket broker at all.  Literally.  I am not kidding.  For one MLB team last year, I wanted to buy 60-80 season tickets at the midway point.  They would not let me buy because I am a broker.  After that the team tanked, and if they would have let me buy those seasons I would have lost easily 10-20k.  (My rationale top 10 usa travel destinations was if they stayed hot I would break even on the regular season and bank on the playoffs.)  Since the team flamed out quickly they likely did not sell those tickets for most of those regular season games I would have bought.  Just bad business on their part.
The main thing that people don t understand about ticket brokers is that we are bearing the risk for nearly all of our purchases for sports tickets, especially season top 10 usa travel destinations ticket packages.  Sometimes top 10 usa travel destinations you win, sometimes you lose.  We are very much like speculators.
