Whatever the policy is, I'd really like to see the cruise line put some backbone in it. I don't smoke, so would be happy if the whole ship was non-smoking. But clearly, that's not going to happen. (And I don't really want that to be the policy, as we have lots of friends and family who'd never be able to cruise with us, were that the case.)
But if the cruise line says, no smoking in a particular area, please have crew insist that the rules be obeyed. If they allow smoking wherever, then I'll happily choose another ship. But it they claim cabins, or starboard balconies are smoke free, I'll be royally pissed, if the smoke free area, that I paid so much for, reeks of old cigarettes, or is obscured by a haze of smoke.
[Actually, in general, I am sick of being the only person following the rules (whatever the rule or situation.) I wish they'd enforce the no saving pool-side lounge chairs too. And every other rule that the rules don't apply to me people break.]
government rates for personal travel I don't smoke, but have friends who do. I realize they have rights as well and the smoking issue isn't a simple one to resolve. But I find myself government rates for personal travel avoiding some public rooms (lounges, casinos) because they're choked with cigarette smoke. government rates for personal travel Crystal government rates for personal travel Symphony has the Avenue Saloon - pub/piano bar/karaoke venue. Used to be one of my favorite hangouts, but it's been choked with smoke for years. Won't go near there any longer. Ironically, they built a Connoisseur's Club next door - essentially a gentlemen's cigar/cigarette lounge (women, of course, allowed). The ventilation is so outstanding that you could be sitting next to a cigar-smoking person and not even realize it.
I too like the only in specific areas of the ship. We have sailed Celebrity Azamara who enforce this and it is great. Just got a notice that Princess government rates for personal travel is starting government rates for personal travel with new policy government rates for personal travel in Jan of next year. Yay!!! as we sail in Feb. on them so now I can enjoy my balcony...
I think there should be areas for the smokers but not in the cabins and after seeing the fire on Star Princess not on balconies either. government rates for personal travel If the cruise lines want to designate XX amout of cabins as smoking, fine. Just like hotel rooms they could have smoking cabins. Group them together and the smoke shouldn't be a bother to the non smokers. Also some designated areas on the ship, a few of the bars and do enforce government rates for personal travel the policy.
I wish all cruise lines would show the Star photos to passengers at the muster drill to enforce just what a real threat a lit cigarette government rates for personal travel can be to a cruise ship. I have sailed with people who threw them off the balcony government rates for personal travel and laughed government rates for personal travel it off when I tried to explain what danger that can be.
