APtravel-Dec.9th-Knoxville, TN. Fortunately, the people of Knoxville kept most of the great staging area for their hosting of the   1982 Worlds Fair.   Why? From hotels to the giant Sunsphere , to the beautiful gardens and scenic walkways, it s all there; serene and beautiful. Barb and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Worlds Fair (all newly remodeled and multi-comfy) just next to the Sunsphere. We went up the elevator in the golden dome, and visited the viewing windows, that gave a 360-degree view of Knoxville , and then we visited the newly decorated restaurant, and cocktail lounge, also with a 360-degree view of the City of Knoxville . I went over to the bar, and couldn t believe the incredible, innovative and absolutely beautiful, cocktail bar. Imagine, the top of the bar had a real water stream running through the bar top, the wall behind was a waterfall tableau (also real running water, vertically coursing up and down in a glass sheathing) the scene, along with the continually changing colored lights along the ridge of the room was intoxicatingly dramatic, and romantic. We are going back for dinner, even if we have to drive an hour from Crossville!
