Before we reached reception we knew we were somewhere different. Passing through a small outdoor lou

This page covers the sexiest hotels in Santa Monica, the beaches, Beverly Hills and Bel-Air. Also check out our East Los Angeles page, which covers the sexiest hotels in Hollywood, West Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. Los Angeles is a world class hotel city, and the home to some of my favourite hotels in the world. I particularly love the Viceroy Santa Monica, SLS Beverly Hills and Sixty Beverly world tour soccer codes Hills
Leading Hotels of the World offers Shutters on the Beach, Mr C Beverly Hills and Casa del Mar, whilst Small Luxury Hotels of the World offers Hotel Shangri-la in Santa Monica. Mr Mrs Smith has The Chamberlain West Hollywood, The Charlie, Oceana Beach Club, Petit Hermitage, L Ermitage, The Standard Hollywood, Chateau world tour soccer codes Marmont, Viceroy Santa Monica and Sixty Beverly Hills.
Mr C Beverly Hills offers a modern interpretation of stylish European retro glamour. The interior design features dark hardwood floors, burgundy and grey color palettes, crisp white accents and vintage black and white film photography. There are 138 rooms and suites, each with private balconies with panoramic views of Beverly Hills and LA. I’d go for one of the suites, particularly one of the suites that features a jacuzzi. world tour soccer codes The hotel also has a rooftop event space, an attractive bar, a small but perfectly formed swimming pool and the Mr C restaurant which boasts classic Cipriani dishes.
The lobby is spacious and features some fabulous oversized leather couches a great place to laze away an hour or so reading. We also loved the ‘library’ area with its glass pool table definitely the most interesting pool table I’ve ever played on, and I think that I’ve finally found my ‘surface’ when it comes to playing pool. Some tennis players are claycourt, some hardcourt, some grass. As a pool player I need a glass surface
We stayed in an entry-level Premium Room. I loved the style lots of white leather and black and white photography. There was no bath, only a shower and the balcony could have been a bit larger but we did really enjoy our views of the fabulous sunrise over the city the following morning. A memory that will stay with me for a long time. Having said that, I think the Mr C Beverly Hills is a hotel that would justify taking a higher category room or suite some of larger ones look fabulous and some include world tour soccer codes a spa bath.
The bar was also very attractive, although unfortunately when we stayed it was mostly occupied by a wedding party that had booked a function on the roof of the hotel. The same could be said of the pool area. When we stayed the weather wasn’t the best, so we weren’t desperate to sit around the pool. It looked like a great spot if the weather was more clement, although the pool itself was definitely sized more for cooling off and/or posing than for swimming.
Before world tour soccer codes you even reach the lobby you know you re somewhere different. The entrance to the hotel is through a small outdoor lounge, with furniture world tour soccer codes made from, or heavily featuring, the horns of various animals and small tree branches. When you get to the lobby and you re greeted by a life-size black horse with a lamp-shade on its head, accompanied by a pig balancing a fruit platter, you know you re in Philippe Starck-world. We stayed in a Signature Suite, which was wonderful in every way. The furniture had a 70s feel to it leather world tour soccer codes lounges and chaise longs and there was a TV in the mirror.. world tour soccer codes pretty cool.  The suite featured an outside terrace, which was a great place for a quiet read, and a sexy black marble and mirrored bathroom, although world tour soccer codes no bath unfortunately. To highlight the difference of the SLS experience, the Signature Suite provides guests with a number of small gifts with each one reflecting one of the seven deadly sins. The rooftop pool is probably the coolest in Los Angeles great music, great cocktails, great people watching. The breakfast restaurant in the lobby features long white marble tables with Philippe Starck stools similar to the table at Jia in Hong Kong as well as more private alcoves with extensive art-book libraries and fireplaces. The eaterie highlight though is the Bazaar restaurant which features what is probably the coolest hotel bar in Los Angeles- try the dirty martini with its olive surprise!
After briefly sating our Kelly Wearstler desire at Avalon Hotel we head across world tour soccer codes Beverly Hills to indulge our Philippe Starck fetish for night two of neilsonparc’s research trip into the hip hot and happening hotels of southern california.
Before we reached reception we knew we were somewhere different. Passing through a small outdoor lounge with furniture made from, or heavily featuring, the horns of various animals and small tree branches we got to the lobby and were greeted by a life-size black horse with a lamp-shade on its head, accompanied by a pig balancing a fruit platter. This is the world according to Philippe Starck, and a wonderful world it is.
We had selected Terrace Room, and weren’t disappointed. The room itself was a good size, and featured some attractive leather furniture including world tour soccer codes a Barcelona-style chaise longue and had a sort of classic retro feel to it like a classy mid 70s apartment. world tour soccer codes The terrace was centred around a small courtyard a pleasant place for an afternoon nap or for a do-it-yourself breakfast in the morning. The bathroom was dark and sexy, but unfortunately only featured a shower.
Room and bathroom done, what next? We headed up to the roof for the super-cool pool. Not designed for swimming this, this is a posing pool extraordinaire. But what a great location to pose four poster beds, great views, great people-watching and some awesome cocktails.
But all good things must come to an end. The evening was drawing in and the heat was draining from the day time to head to the hotel’s restaurant world tour soccer codes ‘Bazaar’ for dinner. world tour soccer codes The decor in this place is amazing, one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been in. Before eating, and on the advice of one of the staff from the Avalon, we sampled the hotel’s dirty martini and I have to report that it was amazing. There was a sort of olive infusion thing happening. I’ve never tasted better before or since. The food in Bazaar was also fabulous
Hotel Bel-Air is back, fresh from a two year transformation under the guidance of interior designers Alexandra Champalimaud (rooms and suites) and David Rockwell (dining and entertainment spaces). The redesign was inspired by glamorous decades of the 1930s, 40s and 50s Hollywood, and the result is stunning. Spanish mission mixes with French Deco. Limestone floors and polished marble, smooth, pale plaster walls, natural wood ceilings, rich finishes and textures with bold strokes world tour soccer codes of colour in furnishings. The hotel is set in 12 acres and offers 58 guestrooms, 45 suites and 7 specialty suites. Almost unprecedented for a hotel of this size, I LOVE every single room even the entry level, world tour soccer codes modern world tour soccer codes deco, Deluxe Suites are gorgeous. Moving up, the Loft guestroom adds a gorgeous world tour soccer codes fireplace between the bedroom and the lounge room. But of course it is the specialty suites that really grab the attention my pick would be the simply fabulous Chalon Suite which harks back to 1940s dreamland. If my lottery ticket comes in tonight I’m booking myself in for a week! The hotel also features a beautiful Lobby Lounge with a spectacular hanging bronze fireplace with natural stone hearth,as world tour soccer codes well as the original hotel bar which evokes the Golden Age of Hollywood with its herringbone design floors, antique world tour soccer codes mirrors, and an incredible leather woven bar. Mrs hotellustlist and I had high hopes of Hotel Bel-Air on two counts. Firstly this had been on our lust list for quite some time, but unfortunately last time we visited LA it was closed for renovations so we weren’t able to stay, and nothing world tour soccer codes increases desire more than unavailability. Secondly, Dorchester Hotels manages Hotel Bel-Air, and we are big fans of Dorchester world tour soccer codes ever since our stay at Le Meurice in Paris, world tour soccer codes which is one of our favourite hotels of all time. So, Hotel Bel-Air, are you going to live up to our high expectations?
The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area of the city. Our first impressions were very positive it felt like we were driving out of the city to a country club. The building itself is also impressive from the outside a sort of pink mission-style palace and is reached via a bridge world tour soccer codes over a lake populated by swans very fairytale
.. on to our room. We were staying in an entry-level room which was situated at the far end of the hotel. We walked through pink archways, past tiled mediterranean style fountains and small courtyards. Our room was large enough, and had a small outdoor terrace world tour soccer codes area surrounded by pine trees. The style was a contemporary take on art deco and the bathroom was spacious and marble. Lovely.
We checked out the Wolfgang world tour soccer codes Puck restaurant for lunch, electing to sit inside world tour soccer codes the dining room rather than on the outside terrace. The inside of the restaurant was gorgeous, with its fabulous open fireplace I was at a loss to explain why all of the other diners seemed to prefer the outdoor setting.
world tour soccer codes Appetites sated, we lazed away the afternoon by the pool. The pool is large, tiled and is set against a backdrop of lush greenery and trees a fabulous setting especially beautiful when the light from the sun filters through the trees. To the bar for a quick cocktail and then we settled in for the night. When we were there the bar featured some beautiful pop-art images, but the current hotel website (March 2012) doesn’t have these so they may have been replaced.
The Avalon was created out of an existing hotel about ten years ago by husband and wife team Brad Korzen and Kelly Wearstler, and was really the project that launched Kelly as an interior design legend. She recently returned to refresh some of the design, and to great effect. The public world tour soccer codes areas were inspired by the relaxed patio lifestyle of mid-20th Century Southern world tour soccer codes California . The restro-bar Oliverio is gorgeous in cool mints and blues, world tour soccer codes retro chairs
